Kindle Sells Like Hotcakes: Wait, Huge Sales Volume at a Loss isn’t a Good Thing?

12:45 am by Admin. Filed under: Geek Games

Amazon really racked up some big sales of the Kindle line of eReaders during the month of December. Amazon boasted that they moved a million Kindles each week during the month. You can bet that a bunch of them were the new 9 Fire tablets too. Selling a ton of your latest and greatest product is a great thing, assuming you are making a profit.

Each of the Kindle Fire tablets is sold at an estimated loss. This is just one reason why some analysts are not smiling when they look at the end of Q4 for Amazon. In fact, one Goldman Sachs analyst is saying even with the brisk Kindle sales, Amazon won’t hit its revenue estimate for the quarter. And with each one eating into the bottom line, market fears are enough that Amazon’s stock price is seeing some volatility.

Amazon stock dropped 4% yesterday before recovering most of that loss by the close of the trading day. Overall sales for the quarter are still expected to have grown 38% over 2010, which is still pretty impressive. Amazon hopes that taking a loss on the tablet will spur sales of digital content to make up the hardware losses, which isn’t an uncommon business model for gadgets. Hopefully, this strategy will pay off in 2012 and beyond.

Many California Neighbors Are Affecting The Los Angeles BMW Searches

8:04 pm by Admin. Filed under: Uncategorized

There are so many Californian locals that have been hitting the Los Angeles BMW car dealers listings that can easily be accessed via the world wide web. This article is going to letting consumers know some things about this particular make of vehicles that they might not have previously known. Some people consider some foreign vehicles to not be worth the trouble while others just love to buy them.

The main difference between these cars and some of the other makes is that these models are going to often carry a price tag that is a little heftier. This is simply because these cars are designed to be upscale luxury models that provide features that few other cars are beginning to provide at the time of their release. This is why many used models are so far ahead of their time, but can easily be found through Bob Smith BMW Service center.

Some people stay away from this particular type of luxury auto simply because the parts are often not made in this country. This sometimes causes them to be much more expensive that some people might expect, and some people do not want to pay high prices for a simple part such as a water pump. Other people do not mind the markup because many critics consider these parts to be very strongly built.

There is another solution out there for people in the states that are concerned over the higher cost of replacement parts. There are many parts dealers that specialize in what is called aftermarket parts. These are basically any parts that were not made by the manufacturer of the automobile. Some of them might actually offer improvements over the original parts and their price is often lower.

A lot of people know that this is the make that they want yet they do not know what type of car or SUV model they would like to go with. There are plenty of autos that range in size from small to midsized and many of them are sporty enough to catch a buyer’s attention. There are also much larger models with more powerful engines and more advanced features that some people might be looking at.

Some more really great news is that lovers of motorcycles now have this make on the table as an option for them as they shop. The idea behind the bikes is the same idea behind the cars. They offer a great deal of luxury for a higher price. They can easily be found at some dealers that specialize in manufacturer’s cars. They can also be found at more and more motorcycle dealers as this is being written.

Anytime that the shopper is dealing with a city that is as large as the one being discussed within this article, there are going to be more than enough dealer’s ads jumping out at them. This gives consumers the opportunity to carefully consider which dealership is offering the kinds of terms and prices that they are looking for. The goal when buying any car new is to try and avoid markup.

It is hoped that every local resident that has been looking up Bob Smith BMW Review on their search engine of choice can now better understand the many ways that this make might be different from others. There are many consumers that like the idea of paying more money for a product that offers a higher level luxury at BMW dealerships. This is an important factor that keeps many economies around the world strong.

People Get Useful Security From Hardhat

7:16 pm by Admin. Filed under: Uncategorized

If you have passed by a building site, you will have undoubtedly seen the workers sporting hardhat. These helmets have a protective function. Their main purpose is to shield those who wear them from impacts that may occur due to debris which falls from an over head location.

Sites

When erecting new buildings, workers tend to use heavy materials and tools. These can be in use several stories above the ground. It is due to this fact that head injury is one accident with a high level of probability. Reducing this danger can be achieved very easily. Wearing a hardhat is a preventative measure. It can also protect against electrocution, and so has many applications. You may also need commercial hi visibility rain gear.

Structure

The success of this item is down to its clever design. Inside the hat, there is a scaffolding made of plastic. It is dome shaped and keeps the head cushioned from any external blows. The scaffolding works by raising the surface of the hat away from the head, so that there is a space between it and the head of the wearer.

Protection

When there is an impact to the hat, the corresponding force that results is spread over its surface and absorbed. The person who is wearing it therefore does not receive the full force of impact. Hardhats act like a second skull for the wearer and are vital in environments where the risk of taking a blow to the head due to heavy, falling debris is real.

Head Protection

Regulatory bodies have now made the wearing of these hats compulsory in certain environments like a building site. It can have a protective role in situations where headspace is limited. Areas with exposed surfaces with uneven pieces of metal or wood jutting out are another environment where it will be worn. It can also give protection in situations where there is a threat of building materials collapsing.

Material

When first seen, hard hats were made of metal. As time progressed, different components were used to make it. Hard hats evolved from this to being made from fiberglass. They are now most commonly made from durable, reinforced plastic. Colors were introduced to ensure visibility and to identify workers on different segments of large construction sites. They made sure that anyone could be seen from a distance high up in the air or above ground and from the vantage point of the driver’s seat on large machinery.

Options

Their use has extended into daily life and its activities. Anyone who has driven a motorcycle, used a bicycle or a skateboard will know this only too well that protective headgear similar to the hard hat will be required. In cases where there has been a fall, the damage due to a large impact has literally saved lives.

Collaspible iPhone Camera Handle: You’ll Never Cover Up That Lens Again

3:11 pm by Admin. Filed under: Geek Games

While point-and-shoot cameras are still popular, it comes as no surprise that the iPhone has taken the lead the most popular camera on Flickr. As such, if you’ve experimented, you’ve probably covered up the camera lens with your finger on more than one occasion while taking snapshots or videos. This easy, collapsible handle should help you to never make that mistake again.

Collapsible iPhone Handle 01

Chris Krueger from The New Hobbyist reports that he also used to accidentally touch the microphone, which would mess up the audio while shooting videos. For his solution, Chris first started with a cumbersome handle, but ended up with this nice, collapsible one, which he had 3D-printed.

Collapsible iPhone Handle 02

The 3D design file for the handle is available over on Thingiverse if you’d like to have a copy printed for yourself at one of the online 3D print services such as Shapeways or i.materialize. Once printed, the suction cups can be found at Home Depot and sell for for a dozen, so the resulting handle isn’t expensive, and can easily be stowed when you don’t need it.
